But The Shadow On The Grass Is Only Mine By Ambra Novelli

Writer: Tin Can PoetryTin Can Poetry

I wash the thought of you off my hair in the shower

hoover your steps away from my bedroom carpet

find a penny you dropped when you last came over

change the sheets like I’m gonna start over

I fall asleep listening to Adrianne’s voice

close all my apps, stop scrolling down a void

I slip my hands into my pockets,

down that park we passed through endless times

sit on a bench, but the shadow on the grass is only mine

I watch all kinds of flowers blossom as days go by

fold away your card, wondering if you still have me in mind

you always loved when I said your name twice

seeing you still hurts, letting go feels right
